To me this sounds like a life of luxury, but she apparently felt the need to prepare for an economic collapse.

Last night it also emerged Nancy was a member of the Doomsday Preppers movement, which believes people should prepare for end of the world.

Her former sister-in-law Marsha said she had turned her home ‘into a fortress’. She added: ‘Nancy had a survivalist philosophy which is why she was stockpiling guns. She had them for defense.

I think being prepared for crime, natural disasters etc. makes sense, but she sounds like a crazy person. She got all that stuff from her husband for FREE.

Maybe I'm bitter because I work for a living. If these sources are correct, perhaps she could have spent a little of the money she was getting to buy decent weapon storage.
So in other words she was as twisted as her kid.

20-30 guns then maybe, but not 5.

If you are a hunter I can easily see owning 5 different guns.
Rifle, shotgun and handgun is 3 right there.

Hunting feral pig is not the same as hunting dove or hunting deer or hunting duck or chasing coyotes off your property.
You're really not even a serious collector if you have only 5 guns. LOTS of collectors have much more than just 20-30 guns.

Her actions and beliefs put a whole new slant on what type a person she was...of it appears to me anyway.

I think people need to wait and see what they find in the investigation

I have had issues too with a family member with serious mental health and behavior problems and found it a challenge to keep him in a safe place. Note that Colorado mental health professionals did not extend themselves to keep a dangerous person off the streets.

What is interesting is that unlike most who are in that situation this family could afford a private hospital but our laws require that the patient consent to confinement.

That author was not actually the mother of any of the people she said she was the mother of. It was a metaphor, she was saying that her son could easily become like any of those people.

I don't think the Govt can do a whole lot about the 2nd. They talk big, but there isn't much they can do to enforce anything. If they could this event would never have happened.

In fact creating the LAW for these so called Gun Free Zones / Drug Free Zones is a joke and nothing more than a paper tiger, no one can enforce. I don't think I need to add links to prove my case.

This is a series of bad law created for and by 'feel good' people and for no more reason that to make them 'feel' like they did something good, when in fact it is exactly the opposite.

This has been the case since JFK was shot down in 62.

Almost every one of these events has had a drugged up wacko as the shooter a prohibited person out and on the loose!

These people need a place to be and to be cared for, but not out and on the loose roaming around at free will, and many are.... Way too many are....

AND since schools are the targets an there IS no LEO enforcement, there is only one other reasonable option and that is to arm teachers, school Admin whether or not they like it. They are after all public servants too.

The safety of the children is directly dependent on what the schools do. if there are more guns in the schools than there are in the local police departments schools will no longer be free for ALL druggy wacko vermin spawn to go shoot and be safe.

This idea works in Israel...... You can search it on google so you don't need to take my word for it and theb idea is being worked out in Salt Lake City too.

Last The govt did not give us Rights, A higher Power did, so for all I care the Govt can re-write the cons all it wants too, and I will still trump the Govt which is mine and yours and not what the people in Govt want to think it is, as they can go pound salt..
And i will buy and sell guns as I please and shoot just like I always have.....

There is no one to enforce a thing about doing what is legal, and the govt changes laws all to often for the wrong reasons.... hence Shooting galleries called Gun Free Zones.

There is local saying in NH USA...... 'To be stupid in the day time and criminally ignorant at night', and this is exactly what we have from the Feds......

And Obama and his tear, was a sham of the shallowest order...... he has killed more people with his toy air planes than that kid did.... he needs to be impeached.

There is a great possibility that this mother was as MENTALLY-ILL, as her son........
