Does anyone know roughly how much it costs to have either 3M Ultra S400 or Ultra S600 clear security films installed? Is there much benefit going with the S600 over the S400?

I know every area is different, but I'm just trying to get a ballpark budget on this.

Just be sure it is bonded to the window frames properly. If not the glass breaks at the frame and the whole piece of glass falls in (now walk/crawl through the door/window).

The installation only cost can be as low as $2 a square foot to as much as $5 a square foot depending on the quality of the installation company and the window(s) you're protecting. A large flat surface on the ground floor with easy access will be less than a second story with divided lights. The only way to know is to contact a few reputable and qualified companies and ask them for an estimate.

The 600's is a thicker film (2mil thicker) and thus can withstand more force. The 3M website has detailed technical information on the films specifications and will explain the various protections it provides. What level of protection are you looking for on your windows? If you have the occasional wind storms with blowing leaves, twigs and such, the 400's will do. If you have tornado and hurricane concerns, the 600's is better.
