I'm not sure where you live, but deer a somewhat bigger than that up here in Canada.

That being said, in a survival situation one isn't going to care much about hunting laws that "level the playing field" when it comes to putting meat on the table. Shooting does or fawns and practices such as jacklighting are all fair game when it comes to my family starving to death or not in a SHTF situation.

I currently hunt deer and follow all the regs when I do so. I can safely say that if my camp were to disregard the regs while doing so, we would tag out more years than not, and that is while hunting a small parcel of land in a heavily pressured area.

The average doe weight here is between 100-140 pounds.

The average buck weight is 150-200 pounds. Though every year there are many taken 250+ pounds.
