My town in AZ isn't a good place to be self sufficient. But we get a lot of tourists so we shouldn't run out of meat...
For a living I teach people how to kill their fellow man.
Sadly death is a pretty good living.
well, looking at all your posts you should be safe and secure, nobody is going to touch you with a barge pole.
of course, that might not be so good if you find yourself needing help at some point.

Well, I won't be needing help from a subject of the crown that's fer sure.
I live in Boulevard CA about an hour east of San Diego and think our area is self sufficient. We have abundant ground water. I make medieval armour for a living and even have the equipment to make coinage and I can make heat treated spring steel that is a little bit bullet resistant. I also raise ducks (have 400) and sell/barter their eggs. For all the reputation of CA, it seems that out here the more they try to control the more slips through their fingers. I have several 40-160 acre parcels nearby that the county has trouble tracking the ownership of.

As I'm sure you know, it was common to prove armor by firing a bullet at it. Armorers did prefer their own loads as opposed to that of the customer's.
Why don't you post pictures of what you make and sell; I'm sure that people would find it interesting. it would be very helpful if you'd list some of your favorite books on the subject as well. I like ffoulkes and Bashford Dean. What's your opinion of them? Do you approve of the the Cymri and their eschewing capital letters?

I own a copy of Bashford Dean that I got at the Higgins 20 years ago, but my favorite book is from Claude Blair. I have PM's you the name of both businesses.
I live in NYC metro. If TEOTWAWKI happens, I am sure I convert some suburban backyards and gardens into good farmland. Plus I never have to worry about water.
