I am interested in alternative energies and such, but I couldn't care less about conspiracy theorists and bugout plans. That's why I don't come here.

I am hoping they eventually split this forum into two different subforums.

or you could just do a google search for "Homesteading" or "alternative energy" if that is your interest, there are many such forums on the net.

i thought the point of being a moderator is to keep an eye on the forum and make sure its working properly and to help make it grow, that's why i was asked to be a moderator on another site. if someone isn't doing the job why are they there?
It isn't a question of liking or disliking what someone wrote. It is a question of violating the City-Data rules. The "job" of moderators is not to read every post; there are too many posts for that and the moderators are volunteers after all.

cant see the point of having moderators in that case.

We don't have a mod here at SS&P. Not since "Missing" went missing. We could use one!

Well this is only the second time I've been in here, you didn't even start this thread, and all you're doing is badgering people. You come off as very combative.

And you could do the same for your interests as well, instead of trying to send others off this forum for wanting to discuss something other than prepping.

I should have been more explicit. I equate "prepping" with the folks that believe in alien invasions and zombies, that build bunkers filled with guns & ammo. What should I call such a person? After all, there was a reality show called "Preppers" about those people.

To me, self-sufficiency & preparedness is having a garden, living off the grid, canning & storing the food I have grown and hunted, etc.
