We ordered 5 of these flash light for $145.00 give or take. Read a lot of articles on them some good & some bad just like anything else. After having them for a week so far I am more then impressed with how nice & how bright they are.

I have an older much bigger Mag Light which I can shine down the road & see the stop sign light up. But the beam as to be set on the narrowest setting to see it. With the Shadow Hawk it doesn't matter the setting. Read reviews where the military. police, etc use this light. Again not sure if that's true either. If any of them did use it I'm sure they would keep it to themselves. It's also billed as a personal defense because it's so bright. Again I can't back that up only going by what the mfg. claim.

The flashlight also has a SOS setting & a setting where it just pulsates quickly. They are supposed to be 800 lumens now I don't have a way to test that but on the beam set on the widest setting it will light the woods up! The case it came in is on the cheap side & it would be nice to have some sot of manual for the flashlights too. The casing of the flashlights feel nice & solid.

Our biggest disappointment was how long it took to get it once we ordered it. It does come with a charger & rechargeable batteries. But so far so good can't wait to take them with us hiking & see how they do in the mountains.

You mean this?

https://www.shadowhawkflashlights.com/ss1/order.php

They certainly want a lot of $$$ for such a small palm-sized light. It looks to me as if this is part of a marketing scheme, a high-profit sales item. For what you got, I'd say you over-paid, big-time.

We live in the woods in Maine, off the grid. There are no street lights in our area. So when we need a light, we need a LOT of light. Everybody at our place has a version of this, which I know is bright:

Defiant 850 Lumen LED Flashlight-HD15BF01 - The Home Depot

...and when we REALLY need to "light up the night", we use a few of these:

I only use flashlights that use a C123 or 18650 rechargeable battery. I like Fenix brand flashlights, but I use them for several hours each day, every day.

I like this model. Lightweight, able to remain in place, way less costly and super bright.

Meant to add this. I have to wonder how an $8.00 flash light is better then a $29.00 flash light?

Try one and compare. What do you have to lose - $8? You can get one today at your local HD. I think it will compare favorably. If you don't like it (doubtful...) HD will refund your money. Will this other seller?

I guess the OP is looking for a small, tactical flashlight that is billed as being used by the military and police.

I don't see why I can't get a refund. I look at it this way I would rather buy something that costs a bit more then a Kmart special. My wife is 5'3 & weighs.. well not much, been teaching her self-defense & trying to even the odds when it comes to her defending herself. In a world where paper spray is a lethal weapon for some stupid reason, I rather take my chances with something more. She carries too but that doesn't mean she can get to it quick enough.

I never said it was used by them I said it was supposedly used by them. Yes weight is a factor. I'm sure I can find something just as bright but that doesn't mean it will hold up as well. Time will tell on that one.

I don't own either of those you are comparing, so I can't comment on those. However, I have purchased some "great deal" flashlights, and I have found the switches to be very short-lived on the cheaper models.
