I'm still here, sorry. Have a lot going on. Setting up a new classroom at our affiliate survival store also was teaching ccw and defensive pistol classes past couple of days. Got my monthly class coming up Wed, at the survival store, need to prep for it.

Also we just got our old (hopefully) emp proof truck back after replacing the entire fuel system. Tank, pump, lines, carb, starter and more for a grand. Ouch! The crappy fuel these days ate up the gaskets and rusted the tank (after 40 years...). Now we are going to paint it into a rolling advertisement for our firearm training.

Oh, and our kitchen sink faucet "blew up." So tomorrow is play plumber day and try to reach the impossible connections.

And how was your weekend?

Hahaha, better than yours & I deserve, my friend. That's a helluva lot of chaos finding you. Did Karma catch up?

J/k but seriously, trying to make a complete relocate out of AZ is my agenda (hell, the gov't has one, why not the constituents, no?) & so very busy calling/negotiating w/ realtors, etc. Even today, Sat, spoke to a realtor up north & Monday will get more feedback re a potential price offer. We shall see -- wish us luck -- as we sure need w/ this wild ride into oblivion it seems.

Ok, carry on soldier, heehee.

I spent the weekend at the new spread in NH. Left early Sat morning with my brother and BIL, to have a look at that difficult-to-pass trail in. Rained on us all day and night! Didn't get back till suppertime today, and still raining.

Something's telling me that this winter won't be the best for working on that property. We all brought our saws along, but instead of buzzin' all weekend, we got soaked up to our knees. Wasn't supposed to be this wet. It was raining too hard to even fly the drone!

I work on the ranch on the weekends, or the forge. I don't spend a lot of time on the web then, and if I'm up at the cabin or getting wood, I don't have internet up there.

I was at the ranch this weekend, and it's HUNTING SEASON!!!

Went out on Saturday, saw lots of deer and turkeys, but no elk. It's been an open fall so the elk are still pretty high.
Still, it was fun getting out with my father for a while.

Sunday the fog rolled in and you couldn't see anything, so we worked on the place instead. Got to have lunch with my brother and his family which was nice. Then on the way home I saw 2 mule deer bucks and one had some weird antlers. Big 2 point on one side, the other had this long spike with no fork, but instead had a long spear like protrusion from the base of that antler.

My brother was up at the cabin and ran into fresh grizzly tracks. The front pad was about 5 inches long, so it was a big bear. Going to have to be careful up their until the freeze sets in.

Don't have time for the internet on the weekends usually, too much living to do!

Big halloween weekend with the kids.

Tons of social stuff.

Laid in another week of shelf stable food stuffs and rotated out some soon to be expired goods for use.

Firewood.

Spent 3 hours and two glasses of whiskey trimming some fat from the household budget.

Kept an eye on media outlets.

Another weekend in paradise!

Been with sick parent. Also putting up turnips (with greens), mustard greens and collards.

Reading and discussing with friends the local issues that will be on the ballot next week.

I have also been trying to talk our local library into buying 'Evidence-Based Climate Science' by Don Easterbrook. Don't think I will be successful. The book costs a chunk of money!

When politics got dragged into all the threads, I lost interest in posting.

FIVE years ahead? Wow! I'm impressed. When I lived in the frozen north we were happy to get a seasons in by Nov. About five cords, cut and hand split. My back still hurts.

We put in new wood burners a few years back and they're much more efficient. We went from burning 4-5 cord per year down to about 3 or so. I have 12 cord cut/split/stacked near the house.

What we've been doing recently is to just buck the logs and then stack them back in the woods without splitting. I'll haul them the 1/2 mile home when I have space in a woodshed and it's safe to haul. Wet leaves on the trails right now make it to hairy to bring them down this time of year.

In the last week, we've put up 6 cords and are averaging 1 cord every 2 hours on the clock.
