Heard this yest & wonder what's going to happen, & affect us prepper/survivalists -- & should we ramp up self-sufficiency in case we economy-wise run out of funds? Trump has no majority coop of Congress thus a crisis over a fed debt ceiling looms it seems. Trump's appeal, like Reagan's, may help him to get congress to dismantling some of these agencies but time will tell.

So preppers & folks, save YOUR money as NOR' here says daily! & buy only needs -- not frivolity, etc. This throws a monkeywrench into our personal spending to buy property. If there's a crisis, it'll be excuse for more gov spending as in confrontation w/ N Korea or proxy confrontation w/ Russia, or just... WW3.

Hmm so... get prepping as usual as many types of crisis could be used to make higher taxes or monetary debt or financial pertubations in interest rates. Wow, what I heard seems kinda wild. Trump's plans could go by wayside -- if the rest of the gov doesn't assist him.

Discuss as it relates to self-sufficiency & preparedness.

Damn right, save your money! Too many on the right have relaxed since the election. It's a trap, I tell ya!

This is no time for relaxin'. If you can afford nothing else, buy food! It's stupid cheap right now - beans of all kinds, split peas, lentils, corn, rice, oats, barley, wheat. Add some dried onions, peppers, tomato paste, molasses, etc for flavoring, as beans and rice are very bland.

3 to 6 month's worth will do ya, esp if you have a productive garden and some egg hens. The worst of it should be over by then.

Nothings got my hackles up like the last few months.

"Save money?" That's THE TRAP. Or the trigger.
The economy is dependent upon the velocity of money changing hands to keep it afloat.
If ever a substantial number of folks went super frugal - BAM - as they say.

[Anecdote flag on] Years ago, saw a show about a Canadian religious sect [name forgotten] who were harmless, but were super destructive. When they moved into an area, the locals were very annoyed. These people kept to themselves, were mostly self-sufficient farmers, and did little interaction with the local businesses. Their women folk didn't go to the beautician, nor nail salon, nor shopped for clothes, nor did any one of those small things that perk up a local economy. Their menfolk didn't go to pubs, nor engage in other recreational activities, etc. In short, as their colony expanded and they replaced locals who moved out, the local businesses went bust.

I agree, but most people won't do this, unless something really goes wrong.

My advice is for those who prep, and on the personal level. That's a tiny segment of the population. I've been frugal all my life, and nobody else ever went broke because of it. But my family and I were considerably enriched by it.

The majority is always wrong. Whatever they do, do the opposite.

[Anecdote again] Back in 1972, I was working at a local federal institution's laundry room, and one of the workers confided that he had saved TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. He smugly thought he would be set for life at retirement.
Of course, based on inflation and tax rates, he would not be set for life if he retired on that sum.
