Like golf, guns will become an outdated hobby among the younger, smarter generation.
You’re out of touch with young shooters. One thing old farts like me like to do when we don’t get around too quickly any more is teach and coach. There are thousands of us. Over the past few months, I have managed to get 3 young ladies (2 are veternarians that care for our kitties and one is a biotech marketing manager) to visit a range and try shooting for the first time. They were delighted and surprised that it was such an exciting and fun thing to do. They were also impressed by the emphasis on safety that permeated their experience. All of them are going back for more with one having signed up for a women’s armed defense class and joining a club.

There are thousands of people like me bring others into the sport and shedding light on the lies and distortions of those intent on surrendering our rights and our freedom.

Yep. My teaching team for Hunter Safety will typically train about 100 kids a year so they can get a hunting license. That's just the show up in person classes. The online course usually has us giving the written and field tests to another hundred. So about 200 new hunters a year in just my County from one of two teaching teams. The other two Counties considered Southern Maryland both have five or six teaching teams and they each have larger numbers taking the class than either of our teams does.

Funny the poster staywarm2 hasn't returned.
Guess he realized people here aren't like him and actually think for themselves.

I find that to be a very common response when a gun debate gets going. The antis start getting bombarded with facts for which they have no answer and just quietly leave.

Never thought I would see people marching in the streets demanding the government take their rights away in America. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? Dangerous and interesting times we live in.

That's what happens when you send your kids to government indoctrination centers (aka public schools). If you must, at least see that they have a strong home background regarding freedom.

That really is a brilliant point and cannot be over emphasized.

Good point that someone brought up above: same applies around here. I know a guy who teaches hunter safety. He never seems to be lacking young students. LUCKILY these young students demonstrate that not everyone below the age of 30 is a snowflake. We still have some IQ floating around in the younger generation... we haven't gone full Idiocracy in the younger generation yet. The question is whether the young thinkers can negate the unhealthy (to society) effects caused by the young and indoctrinated (sounds like a soap opera: The Young and Indoctrinated). That's a scary question.

Yup and pop up on another thread. They are like weeds. We chase one away on one thread with rational thought and they pop up on another and we chase . . . .
