Too many Federal hoops to jump through to purchase an assault weapon.Lots of paperwork, record keeping, etc.

They're also crazy expensive, a few thousand at the bottom end.

Shhh, don't give them anymore ideas. Although I suspect those are on their hit list already, just further down.

I want them more than you, so I think I will keep them instead.

16 years sounds about right.

I welcome it.
I state is as 6 to 16 years because it is easy to remember,
but I really don't see us making a full 16 years.

My current bet is the year 2030, if nobody nukes us,
and the Demoncrats don't do something stupid enough
to plunge us into a revolution.

Train yourself. Train your children. Train your friends, good neighbors, extended family, anyone who will train and is ideologically aligned with you. A war is coming(I hope, only because I see war as better than surrender to this evil), and we who fight may be fewer than those we oppose. Therefore we need to extract a heavy price for each casualty we accrue. No dying cheaply on our side. Make them do that.

Debate is pointless now, the sides are set. We of course will not initiate the use of force, we will keep to the moral high ground as we always have. But when the other side graduates from spewing emotional diatribes to actively fighting for their agenda, we need to be ready to stamp out the stupidity once and for all. No more tolerance for the ninnies who have been told that their opinion matters even if it is wrong. No more giving up rights to hopefully shut them up. No more tolerance of infringement of the rights of the individual because the seething masses cry for it. Liberty will either be reinstated, or it will be gone forever. If it is brought back, I will be happy to help in that effort. If it slips into history, never to return, I will be gone and not here to see it. I hope there are more like me.

Are you familiar with astrology and its concepts?

Well, for a crash-course if you're not, a chart is cast for the founding of a country, and for the US, many believe that was the date of the Declaration of Independence. It just so happens that in that chart, the planet Uranus happens to be sitting on the Descendant, which is the point exactly opposite the Ascendant, and both of those omens together suggest extreme change, since Uranus is the planet that disrupts things and forces changes.

Okay, fast-forward as Uranus moves through its orbit and the next time Uranus is exactly opposite the Ascendant is April 1861, which was the start of the Civil War.

Fast-forward again, and the next time Uranus is opposite the Ascendant is during the month of February 1945 -- right at the time of the Yalta Conference, and the big change is the US assumes the leadership of the Free-World.

The next time Uranus will be opposite the Ascendant is May 2028, a little over 10 years from now, and some people are anticipating major changes in the US, although what exactly might happen is anybody's guess.

I agree with the basics of what you are saying.
You sound like one of the Sipsey Street Irregulars.

I generally give no credence to Astrology, though I often
notice the confluence of events.

There is a poster above (I shan't mention names) whose posts I have read over the course of quite a number of years. He occasionally posts here, but more often posts in the politics forum. Knowing the typical flavor his posts, knowing the logical and critical thinking skills he possesses, and knowing the attitudes he generally exhibits, I can't help but to declare that his last several posts are nothing but toying around. He's not serious and he certainly does not himself hold any of the opinions, views, and beliefs expressed. He's not taking this thread seriously.

Either that or a zombie has invaded his mind...

Whichever it is, I wouldn't take those posts seriously or bother to rebut them.
