I do not watch tv, I do read a book or two each year if the writer is intelligent.
My ideas are the result of what I see and an understanding of history and social conditions.
History repeats itself and to me the idiom 'Power Corrupts Completely has been personified in the presidencies from FDR to the present boob...some of them really standing out...Nixon for his insanity, Obama for his denial that crazies can and do intend to bomb us.
Crime and business runs this world...our armies have done the dirty work for them time and time again.

The problem is how to control the population...handheld media devices is one way. Make them completely dependant and then slip in the mind control and hypnosis....MP3..Blackberry...I have them too.

Chaos? On the brink of that now...one Panic Event away from the stampede...get some food stored..that's the best thing you can do...

It's like peering into the abyss, but when you take a look at The Federal Reserve, it's little wonder why we have a British subject currently occupying the White House (via coup of our Constitution), and the previous occupant, a direct decendant of the Crown of England, was quite clear on his opinion of our Constitution, ". . it's just a goddamn piece of paper!" You can't buy stock in The Federal Reserve (a non-US entity), because it's dynasty owned, and half of those people are not even Americans.
There is a video which examines govt including the Bilderberg Group. Video is called the Obama Deception. (Bad name for the video because it goes far beyond Obama in the past years of the govt).
YouTube - The Obama Deception HQ Full length version or other sites such as The Obama Deception

When I watched the video a couple months ago, I thought it's a pretty over the top theory but they certainly make a powerful argument for their theory. They do a really good job of connecting all the dots. I just can't believe the theory is really true... but I can't quite shake a tiny gnawing question of doubt that perhaps it or part of it could it be true.

A year ago I would have thought the theory was just plain crazy.
But things that have been going on really make one wonder.

The video is well worth watching. Even if one doesn't agree with it, one will surely learn something new. The video is really long - I played it while cleaning instead of sitting and watching it for 2 hours.

PS, The video is 1:53:40 long.
Infowars said something about youtube doing something.

In addition to a food and seed stockpile...I wanted to add that having some money or tradeable goods on hand will be very important.

We all have that big jar of change that's too heavy to lift...Well, it's time to sort it out and put the cents, nickles, dimes and quarters together.

The coins we use are almost worthless because these coins are 'clad. A small coating of metal pressed to aluminum or copper. I'm sure a bulk price for a weighed amount will surface in the market place. Like 4 oz of cents will equal $0.25.

I doubt if a lot of us will be stocking up on bullion, but silver coins are another matter..
They are easy to get and do not cost that much..
As a minimum amount, I would try to have on hand about $200 in silver coins.

Any paper money will be only good for lighting cigars...

When push comes to shove, and a person has a commodity that you really must have (gasoline) they will not take anything for that item, except something of REAL value.

A person at the office yesterday asked me how long I thought we would need to take care of ourselves..I said 3 months.

My next step is protection and I'm at odds with that topic...any suggestions?

I let most of my long range hardware go when the kids were small.

My eyes are weaker and the steadiness is not there either...It's like an AK or two would be the best rattler...cheap, lightweight, versatile...

The Federal Government is stocked with totalitarian thugs and anti-gun politicians. Ammo has been emptied off the shelves in this country because every gun owner knows in the pit of their stomach confiscation is on the horizon. The politics of removing guns from the general population will most likely begin with some new form of cataloging (registering, licensing, etc.) so watch what the anti-gun politicians say, these puppets of globalists : current occupant of the White House, Nancy Pelosi, Eric Holder, Rahm Emanuel, Joe Biden, etc.,

Using military, including NATO forces, against the citizen population of this country is not only doable, they're preparing for it . . and it's why state soveriegnty is more than just chest pounding; the Federal Government has directives to trump any law (including The Constitution) and take command of state and local law enforcement. So as a fellow citizen, I encourage you to consider that carefully when electing a Sheriff, a Governor, etc. All you have to do is read and listen; you'll see and hear the banner of "global governance" being waived, heralded, and hailed.

For the suggestion box : take up archery.

I'd say a shotgun. I don't know much about guns, but I think you can get shotguns that hold 5 or 6 shells. Would be more useful for squirrel or rabbit hunting than an AK, plus aiming is less critical (viz: worsening eyesight and less steadiness).

DK,

My favoirtes are 7.62, 5.56, 12ga, .357, .45gov, 9mm & .40

Look for tools that have been produced for a while for which you can get replacement parts & ammo more easily. I prefer ones that have been developed and produced for, or at least approved for military use.

Look for a video of the Springfield socom II. It's about the best for multi-purpose usage that I've found. Short enough for close in work yet very capable of any distance requirement you may encounter in the wooded hills of wv. But I truly believe you need more than one type; at least one rifle, a shotgun and a pistol. Oh, and I agree with the 'take up archery' advise too.

The recent run on ammo & guns has shown that if (when) there is an event, even in the case of mass produced typical gov't calibers & weapons, it will still be difficult to find any to purchase. Many of the suppliers ran out for weeks at a time between Nov '08 and March '09 at which time it seemed that production finally caught up with the near 100% increase in demand from the previous year. This, as is typical in economics, drove prices through the roof.

Check out the West Virginia Citizens Defense League www.wvcdl.org Join if you think it's an important issue for citizens to be able to defend themselves their families and WV. You can get some good info on these kinds of questions at the wvcdl forum, just follow the link on the right sidebar.

Watch August and September into the autumn of the year. It should be very interesting. Thus far, I'm stuck in FL so I'm at a definite disadvantage. I'd rather be in the hills somewhere, but things just haven't worked out that way. Good luck to all!!

Clintsullivan:

I've worked with the M-14 and dearly love that rifle...and the Remington 700 with the bull barrel and 3x9 Redfield...never liked the issued .45, but the Colt Officers Model is quick and deadly.

The problem is a/my body's 'on the downhill side...I think I'll do as Snorpus said and invest in a Shotgun...an 870 Remington and see what's out there in a 700....the sps varmit in 25.06 with a plain-jane set up would work...like that long barrel length...

Think I know a guy who will let me shoot one in demo...a tight sling and a little lasic on the eyeball and who know's...haven't been deer hunting since '82...this seems to be the year for that too.

thanks for getting my brain cells in movement...covering all the basics and doing it right is the thing to do...dk

Good Military training is only a test for the actual battle situation...In the Marines everything was done to simulate the battles chaos. Noise, panic, blood and guts, smoke and even in some situations the smells.

Perhaps a testing of our larders are in order...just to fine tune them...living out of our storage for a 2 or 3 week period, saving the budget money to restore them and getting a feel for the real thing...

I'm thinking of a worst case secenerio: Hypothetical of course...winter: Late Dec or early Jan of year ?

Njke device detonated in Baltimore or Chesapeke Bay...smuggled in by boat...collateral damage accessment: 200,000 dead...250,000 wounded by burns...all power and facilities out in the area, Migration westward by survivors, through mountain terrain of Rt 50 and I-68...temps in those high elevation areas 20* and under. Pathways strewn with litter, vehicles and bodies.

Military moved in from other reaches to guide and protect.

Martial Law declared in our Nor Central area...all able-bodied previous military in good physcial shape re-recruited to duty, via computer and cell phone.
New frequencies addressed to and activated to cell phones for this emergency.

I-68 at Morgantown Junction sealed to prevent southern migration and the direction of the masses toward their west-ward movement.
Interm refugee camps set up north of Cheat Lake on the Pennsi side (Medical attention provided by
WVU and Pittsburgh facilities accessing Mon-Fayette Expressway.

Larger camp set up in Greene County, Pa to doctor the sick and a continous life-flight service to the WVU and Kingwood hospital Facilities...(Kingwood used only for Military casualties)
Washington County, Pa used for another Refuge Camp with the utilization of Pittsburgh medical facilities

Estimation of Military personell needed: 2 Battalions for protection (2,000) of area and 2 Battalions to evacuate (4,000)
Civilian recall needs: 3,000

I feel when this day comes, it will not be weather friendly...all potential suffering and harm that can be done to our people will be done.
You, who have traveled throught Keysers Ridge with a 'Pea Soup Fog, a forty mile an hour wind
driving the snow and the temperature in the minus, know what I'm talking about.
9/11 was a Public Relations stunt...good weather for the media...this event will be the real thing..
It won't be pretty in the least bit.

Give that stored food and try to work out the kinks...Krogers will be delayed on deliveries when/if this happens.

I'm not a worrier, but this scenario has been playing through my mind for the past few years. After watching the anarchy of Katrina I'm sure it could happen here. There is a large population to the east that would head this way. I'll feel better when I'm a ridge or two to the West.
