How many are noticing paid shills showing up in forums? (store)

I've been noticing this a lot more lately. A thread will start with a controversy over a store and low and behold, a new member will pop into existence singing praises of the chain (rarely the individual store). Another case of don't trust what you read. I wonder how much they get paid?
