Grasonville, I thought I'd let you know that the link you posted doesn't work anymore. Bummer because I was hoping to read a bit more about the Direct Buy scam.

It's very high-pressure to get you to join and they tell you once you leave, that's it. You're not allowed to come back or talk to anybody about the "savings

Not allowed to talk to anybody about the "savings"? Sounds like the Moonies or something.

That's BS. I talk to anybody about anything I want. I don't have a problem with telling people how much I paid for a particular item through Direct Buy. How are they going to stop me? I'll tell you what I paid for my stuff. What are they going to do to me - throw me in jail?

I think the people doing all the complaining about Direct Buy are people who are NOT MEMBERS.

What Direct Buy doesn't want are its members going into a retail store and saying "Well, at Direct Buy I can buy it for this much." Obviously a retail store can't sell you the same item at cost or they'd be out of business. I don't think they really care if you talk to your friends or family and tell people what you paid. Why should they care?

Evidently it's NOT "BS." You seem to be one of the few fortunate people who've had a positive experience with this organization. Best of luck to you.

Default We'd NEVER Join!

Are we members? Heavens, no! That was the biggest bunch of amateur scam artists I've encountered since attending a time share "opportunity."

5k to join and 5 minutes to compare prices? Would you go for that?

Like I said, glad you found it worthwhile. We didn't.

It seems that anybody who has anything negative to say about Direct Buy are not members. You couldn't possibly be qualified to comment on something you really don't know anything about. You can't talk about a member experience because you aren't a member. That's like me trying to tell you how to work on a car. Sure, I've read other people's ideas on how to work on a car, but don't have any personal experience or knowledge. Not quite the same as actually having first hand knowledge.

But, if you want to pay retail, go for it. It doesn't affect me one way or the other.

There are enough red flags flying in this thread for me to mistrust Direct Buy. As for comments by actual members of Direct Buy, I found the link below very helpful. That consumer informtion site is a good antidote to Direct Buy's hype and hucksterism. It is full of sad and painful first-hand information which I found more believable than say, the "endosements" that have appeared in this thread. Thank God there are places where consumers can report their actual experiences without being shouted down by the con artists.

litlux, I found that the comments on this link were frightening and actually tragic. People have been devastated by this compoany. Why are they allowed to exist even?
