A friend just bought this 42 inch LCD T.V. and it's only two months old and now having problems already. I found alot of complaints about these Vizio T.V.'s at
ConsumerAffairs.com
Have owned a 42" for 2-3 years, have to turn it on, then off, then on for the picture to show up, can't adjust volume for about 45 seconds after power is on. Good picture, but quite inconvenient
We've had a 47" for about 4 months or so. No problems so far. We've never used the built-in sound, though - audio goes directly from the HTPC to the surround system. The only "complaint" I have is that it doesn't turn off when the PC tells it to go to sleep. Could be an HDMI thing, though. This is the first display I've used where I didn't use the 15 pin VGA interface.

We have 2-34" Vizio tv's one in the Master and another in the Great Room. I've had this same delay issue on the Master but it doesn't bother me. The other belongs to our sons and I don't watch it. They haven't mentioned it. If you read the reviews, the sound on the Vizio IS tinny. We added a set of (gaming) computer speakers box to the Master TV ($120 at Best Buy) and a sound bar ($100 Walmart) to the other. BIG difference! So far very happy with the picture and no functional problems.
