Has anyone tried buying mattresses online? We've gone to a few stores and have narrowed down our choices to 3 different Sealy models (the Cedar Point, the Ocean Crest, and the Italian Moon). While looking for reviews online, I found a few sites that sell these items for about 300-400 less than the local stores. Shipping is free, although we'd have to dispose of our current set ourselves.

So... the question is, has anyone tried this? I'm a little afraid to buy something like this online but when I think about it I'm not sure why since I've already tried them in a store.

Thoughts?

The best deal is from a company called HumbleAbode if anyone knows about them.

I've bought all my mattresses online and have gotten good deals on good merchandise every time. I've especially enjoyed the memory foam mattresses from backbenimble.com and bragada.com. If you've tried the mattresses you want to buy and if you check out the reviews for the online site, there's no reason not to buy online.

Another one that comes to mind is overstock.com - no personal experience though.

I've actually done better with mattresses online. I bought a memory foam mattress from Dynasty Mattress through Amazon last year. It is the first mattress in years that doesn't cause me hip pain. My husband and I ordered 2 XL Twins instead of a king. They are easier and lighter to move.

Memory Foam Mattress, Pillow, Bed, Tempur-Pedic.

I'm not sure about the regular mattresses but if you found the one you want I don't see why you wouldn't order it online for the savings

I've purchased two from US Mattress. No problems with either although I had to dispose of the old mattresses myself.

I've purchased 3 memory foam mattresses from Overstock and my guests have said they are the most comfortable mattress they've slept on, where can they buy one, etc. The memory foam ones come rolled up and once you open the packaging they come to life, fully flat and fluffed up within a couple of hours. And the shipping costs can't be beat. :-)

Great phone service, excellent recommadations and very easy to work with. after narrowing it down to two models, they even offered to bring with them both models on the delivery to chose from. look them up mattresskingchicago.com queen sets starting from 189.88

You might check in your library to see if Consumer Reports has done an assessment of them. That, and Consumers Digest.
