I ordered two CDs (somebody gave me a gift card) on Dec. 29. Amazon sent an email saying it would be USPS and it had an estimated arrival of Jan. 5. I got them yesterday (Jan. 31) in my mailbox. Yay.

I love my Amazon Prime membership. For $79/year, I get free 2-day shipping on everything Amazon has in stock. That merchandise always comes by UPS. If I want 1-day shipping, the cost is $3.95 and that merchandise is shipped via FedEx. I've gotten so spoiled by Amazon Prime that I rarely buy anywhere else online (except eBay. I just cant kick my eBay habit.)

I sell books on Amazon and ONLY use USPS media mail. The problem with media mail though is it's a one way ticket, no return if undeliverable. Technically they DO return but they charge you for it.

Not to go off topic to far.....
I've been kicking around a Amazon Prime membership but after making sure my $79 was working for me 24/7/365 but , alas, that was not the case for me.

It boils down to paying to get free shipping since none of the books offered we what I read nor as often I read a book so that was a no, then the streaming video was also a no since I don't want another device to watch TV or movies since the cable plan I have is just enough at the right price with NO equipment risk.

So , for me, Amazon Prime boiled down to paying for free stuff I can get anyway ,or don't want, and that's not worth my $79 fee.

Damn! I was really hoping that I could get enough free ebooks to my Kindle to off set the cost too.

Sorry, Grandpa. I buy a lot of merchandise (gifts, household items, even food) on Amazon because I'm still recovering from a stroke and cant walk into most stores. Amazon loses a boatload of $$$ on shipping on my Prime Membership -- but, of course, it probably makes up for that on all the merchandise I buy.

I buy a lot thru Amazon. When I buy DVDs they always, each and every time come via USPS, but if i check the tracking it shows it was delivered to my local post office via UPS and sometimes FedEx but every time I order DVDs I always get it in my regular mailbox via USPS. Now other stuff usually comes UPS and occasionally FedEx.
