With all of the foreign goods that we are importing and the jobs we are losing to overseas nations such as China, Japan, Thailand, etc; what do you believe are some quality, American made products that cannot be replaced by imports? I try to buy American made products whenever possible and although the imports may be cheaper, many cannot hold a candle to some items made in America. A few products that come to mind are:
Zippo lighters- These things are damn near indestructible and come with a lifetime warranty (although you will probably never need it).
Weber grills- Another American products that no foreign country can reproduce. My father has had his Weber for over 10 years and it's still running like the day he bought it.
Marlboro cigarettes- Okay I know it's a bad habit and I've been trying to quit but that's beside the point. Another great American product.
Budweiser is far from quiality! If you want a true, good American beer try Sam Adams!
In Ireland i always bought items with the "Made in Ireland" logo, and the same here in the local market. If it has a Made in the US sticker, ill buy that. I have no problem with foreign goods, i wouldnt say theyre a poorer quality, but you have to support your own when you can. Spending US dollars in teh US keeps jobs here.
Oakley Sunglasses - of which I believe my husbands entire collection probably supports many of their employees. Gotta say though, while they may be "expensive" if you ever break them or something they stand behind their products 100%.
Fiskars - scissors. Mine say "Made in the USA". How many pairs of these things are bought every year in August/September alone?
Zippo - may not smoke but I do love their long lighters for candles, fireplace, grills, etc.
Daisy Brand Sour Cream - also locally for me.
JumpKing Trampolines - well, they USED to be American made. I bought mine when they still were. Now after the evil wallyworld empire squashed them into lower production costs they are in Mexico.
My Chevy Suburban - Made in Arlington, TEXAS! Yes, I know some of the parts IN it probably were made somewhere else but at least the whole thing was assembled right here in my own backyard.
Guitars!!!! Yes some overseas ones are of decent quality but they still don't match a American made Fender or Gibson.
