I'm in search of a new mattress and I found a good deal on the Serta Gel Foam bed at Sams Club so I'm considering it, but my husband said he's heard that they get very hot. Anyone experience sleeping on these beds? What's the verdict? Are they comfortable or are they hot? I thought it was just the memory foam beds that get hot. My husband and I both have back problems so if you can recommend a decent bed that's good for back problems (but doesn't cost too much) then we'd appreciate any recommendations. We're looking to spend no more than $550 for a queen set. I know, tight budget

A childhood classmate works for Serta and claims they do not get hot like a Tempur-Pedic due to the gel. $550 probably won't get you a Serta mempry foam set- if it does, let me know where 'cause I'll be buying one, too.

Sams Club sells the mattress for $499.98. That's just the bed but if it doesn't get hot like I've heard then I would definitely spend the extra money for the set because it was super comfortable when I laid on it in the store.

That's not the real Serta I-Comfort. I see that same Sleep Innovations brand in Costco, IIRC.

Just checking to see if anyone has recently tried out Gel Foam Mattresses, Serta or otherwise??? What brand? What size (topper 2"-4", or 8"-13" mattress)? Where did you buy? How long have you had it? Does it sleep hot? Would you consider it hard? Any other tips or website(s) that you've found useful besides "sleeplikethedead"?
