Which Mattress to buy? Too many choices...
There are so many mattress companies claiming they are the best. I think Serta then I think Beautyrest....But, now there are mattresses that are "cool" to sleep on. How can that be, and does it really work? Temperpedic? Now I am hearing they are "hot."
I bought a bed I thought would be good for our backs. However, now as time has progressed we have tender points that this "hardness" doesn't feel great with.
So please...
Tell me what you've found to be the most comfortable. Soft sounds nice.
Do the foam ones that conform to ones body work? Will they work with a tosser......
Someone who flips all night long.
I have loved the beds in the Country Inns and some at La Quintas. I wish I would have gotten the name off of one. Even Clarion on 17 by Fredricksburg had a fantastic bed.
I guess I needed to get the names and make a list.
Do you have any names of types we could try? That would be great......

Call the inn's company office to see what brand of bedding they use in their inn's.

The only problem with that is the "brand" can have several matress lines from cheap garbage to expensive luxuary. Complicating it is many manufactures will have a model for consumers and the similar hotel matress uses another industry name not available to consumers. So Brand A's Exclaiber Super Luxuary Pillow Top with Ultra Plush Thingyies under the consumer name is called the Brand A Executive Suite H-5 in the hospitality industry (and called the Brand A To-The-Moon Park matress when sold at the closeout odd lot stores).

In the past 10 years we went through 6 different types of mattresses so I can relate to your pain. Then 2 years ago we decided on the Serta i-comfort Genius model mattress and we have been excedingly happy. Immediately I could sleep through the night and have no pain when waking in the am. My wife loves it to, she has a bad back and the bed gives her much comfort.
Here's information you can peruse, then maybe go try one out at the store. Our dealer gave us a 90 day return policy if we were not happy which was a good selling point for us. We didn't need to use it.

After a few decades of slapping a 3" latex topper on every mattress I had I bit the bullet and bought a latex matterss, a Sealy Spring Free (I think they have changed the name). I went a little on the firm side so I had flexability and ended up using my topper instead of going for the extra padding. I have no regrets since can use it as is for something firm or put whatever the heck I want on top and change it up at my body needs. And my body seems to change every couple years.
Remember, you can ALWAYS put a topper on a firm mattress, but you can't firm up a too-soft or broken down mattress.

Ok everyone, thank you very much. While exchanging our refridgerator that had too much depth, we walked into the Serta room. Those iCool Temperpedic were so comfortable along with those special pillows which were free with the purchase today.( so is the boxspring with it) Made from the same design as the iCool. The pillows are a dream. It is the same mattress material in those pillows...yummm...
There was one more regular mattress by Serta that had the iCool in it too. So it was a tight match on what felt better.
The mattress seemed to put the iCool deeper in its depths. I did like its height and its feel though.
But........Going by what everyone said here I wanted to try the Temperpedic Icool. I had heard that the regular ones were hot and I just could not stand a night of that. But this cool ingredient seems to be just right.
I will report back when I have a good nights sleep on it. After Sunday sometime......I am so looking forward to this.
It will be a miracle if those fibro points are silent for the night. Can't wait...
iComfort......iComfort......Sorry the actual name is iComfort and of course because I like to be cool it became iCool. ( I know you all forgive me...)

FYI...Serta i-Comfort is not Temperpedic. They are 2 separate companies with similiar type products. Temperpedic is the one that has the hot complaints and hard to move in. The Serta does not, it's made of different cooler material and responds immediately to movement.
I hope the Serta i-Comfort works for you as well as ours, we love it.

They cost so much. Are they worth it?
