As consumers, what kind of presentation do you prefer to see for more specific product, let’s say automotive or aerospace?
I personally love that skydiving cat commercial for the insurance company…LOL (As an example)

I guess you prefer no television programs, magazines, websites, radio stations, or newspapers, either.

Sure, adds can be annoying, but if you were ready to buy a specific product, how would you like it to be presented? As far as props...like cats, dogs, cars, girls in bikinies...those are just a few examples.

I need some ideas...

If I was ready to buy a specific product, I would not care how it was presented in an ad.

If I was ready to buy, I would have done my research, price comparisons, etc, already. No cats or dogs or "girls in bikinies" (really?) would change that.

As a chick I would do the same thing. I need ideas for automotive/aerospace industry, just brainstorming some ideas. I think my question is mostly for guys who is already in it...

OK I'll weigh in on this . . . while the skydiving cats commercial is cute, it doesn't particularly make me want the product. Although it does make me watch.

The recent apple iPad commercial where they throw all the words at you in a split second and have a group of people shout the last word "ROCK" is very good. I appreciate the entertainment value, AND they are showing me cool stuff that the iPad can do.

In general, I tend to lend more weight to commercials where the owner, CEO, whatever delivers the commercial. The Richard Branson Virgin Mobile ads for example. Eisner did a few Disney commercials. Whats-his-name Ford did some Ford commercials. The exception is during the Gulf oil spill, where the owner of the British oil company came on and promised to make it right. Everyone was still so pissed at him, it did not go over well. Now they have local Americans doing the 'we're cleaning up' stuff and it's a little better.

Along the same lines, and even though I know they are actors, I do like the H&R Block ads where they have the 'accountants' telling us they will work hard to get us a return. I especially like the cute old dude with the bow tie and the glasses.

Dunno if it helps, but there it is
