What do they think? That we won't notice? The past few years at many shoe stores, the shoes and boots are showcased and priced as if they are quality real leather or real suede! I usually end up leaving the store empty handed. I want to buy shoes! In person cause I need to try on.

We should ourselves have to know about the real difference between original and fake, otherwise every shop owner will claim that only he has the original one. I also patrol large number of shops whenever I have to buy something, to find the original product.

I'm with you oldhousegirl - getting harder and harder to find leather (and what is heck is "man-made leather"????). I'm not paying what they want for vinyl-whatever shoes that you can't get wet, can't waterproof, don't breathe, etc.

Do you have any quality shoe stores (not big box and not at the mall) near you? I have a couple near me and they always have a good selection of high quality leather and suede shoes.

That's a $99 pair of shoes at a department store. I wouldn't expect much at that price as it is.

As for furniture, watch out for "bonded leather"....probably not what you were looking for.
