I can certainly understand you feeling that way and if my recent purchases don't hold up I will be right there with you. I just wanted others to know that as far as the purchase goes and the awards points program I feel that I got a very good deal. Of course if the items are problematic then the deals crap.

I grew up with Sears Roebuck being a major force in the catalog/store business. They had everything and it was all really good stuff. Then I began to notice a change in Sears, they were going to more and more prepackaged stuff and they no longer employed people who knew the products in their department. I asked an Associate there one time for information about a tool and he said " I don't know anything about them, I worked in shoes up until yesterday."

Next the tools that I had bought for years began to get cheaper in quality. The chrome was not as durable, rachets now had plastic parts, and some tools didn't even carry the lifetime warranty that made Sears what it was. I had a $300 jack fail after 6 months and they offered me 10% off of a new one to make me happy. Their electric tools are no better than Harbor Freight, and maybe worse.

I don't even go into Sears any more, there is nothing there I can't find cheaper and better elsewhere. I bet they won't even be around in 5 years.
