Sure, sure, sure... but why is this even in Great Debates?

IF you had looked a bit further on the link and checked nordstrom, the first link you would have found the following:

Men's Dress Shoes | Nordstrom

Men's Slip-On Loafers: Driving Shoes, Moccasins & More | Nordstrom

Mens - Dress Shoes - Size 12.5 | Shoes.com

Maybe these will be more to your liking and I will in the future try to post the actual site with the actual pictures of grown man shoes so you don't have to search any further.

I'm sure you can get the size you want for cheaper, but Allen Edmunds is a top quality shoe. Considering they are made in the USA you would expect them to be $1K/pair. I have seen them as low as $250 at Nordstom's though.

Btw, I think this thread belongs in fashion.

If someone can point me to a decent American shoe company that makes and distributes a 12.5 I will be a customer for life.

I wear either a 15 D or a 14 4E. In theory that means that the best size for me is 14.5.

But the truth is that you can get those half-sizes. It was explained to me one time that if you get the "4E" width, it's actually about a half size bigger than the stated size. I verified this by comparing it to a "D" width of the same size and model. This would explain why I can fit a 14 4E and a 15 D but not a 14 D, even in the same model shoe.

I'm 59 and wear running shoes whenever possible. I guess I didn't get the memo about what kind of shoes I'm supposed to wear.

My running shoes and basketball shoes are size 13. My dress shoes are Allen-Edmonds and are size 12. They will last forever if you take care of them. I suggest buying their cedar shoe trees and flannel shoe bags.

There is no problem to buy those half sizes online, but in the stores? In most stores I saw half sizes up to 10, and 11, 12, 13 only in full sizes.
Expensive shoes have better selection in size and width.
However, for full comfort and exact fit shoes should be tried in person...

I'm a female with a 10 1/2 Narrow foot. NEARLY impossible. You have to pay good money for good shoes but your feet are worth the investment.
