I heard this " Credit monitoring (from home depot) will not protect you from fraudulent charges made with stolen CC data. Stolen credit card info cannot result in identity theft either since it does not include SSN and DOB. As such, the offered credit monitoring is nothing more than a PR stunt."

Apparently Home Depot doesn't do background checks on employees

I used my CC in Home Depot Bonita Springs Fl Saturday, my brother in a Valley Stream NY Home Depot and his boss in another - all on Saturday 09/27. All three CC's were jacked this week. Coincidence?
Cash Only for that place from now on.
It doesn't do much good to go cash only for a business after a breach, and it's pretty likely that places where you continue to use your card will have a breach down the road. Unless you switch to cash everywhere it isn't going to help.
