Default Christmas is Coming!

Welcome to Christmas creep!

Stores do the same with just about every holiday now. Very few people actually know why stores do this. I read an article on Consumerist about this, and there's a reason for it. You know that one person on your street or in your neighborhood that goes hog wild with decorations in their yard? These people spend hundreds, even thousands on their displays. And they need to get their stuff months before Xmas, so they can start setting up. Think about it, if these people couldn't get their stuff there, They would likely buy it online instead.

What I don't understand though, is the stuff like wrapping paper. No one (or at least not many) people need wrapping paper in September. It is annoying though, to see that stuff out. Can't we at least enjoy the last few weeks of summer???

And don't even get me started with the stores putting out Halloween stuff in late June (Yep, saw several aisles of the stuff at Michaels then)

I was in Dollar Tree in Silver Springs (Ocala) Florida today and they have some Christmas stuff out.

We're the family with the huge Christmas display, BTW. This year we'll start setting up shortly after Halloween as it takes that long to get it all done. Our neighbor also puts out a huge display.

It's my happiest time of year! And, no, we don't have kids.

Retailers all over the country started putting out Xmas stuff in July. That's been the norm for many a year. These stores bought their inventory back in January and need to get them out of storage and to start getting some of their investment back.
There's around 100 days left and the rest of the days will go by real fast. "Merry Christmas" .

I thought that was funny.

I wish the X-Mas season did not start until December, for the record my K-Mart does not have any X-Mas stuff out yet.
