Advertisements

I need to sell some home office furniture and Craigslist is terrible for this.
The amount of ads going up every minute is incredible and most of them are from local retailers/commercial sellers. So you post an ad and within minutes its off the front page.

Is there anything else local that any one has used?

yeah, my wife posted on one of those. Maybe it will work out better.
But then she got messaged about another piece of cheap ikea furniture that was poking in from behind in the pic. lol

That is the best place we've found too, on the Beg, Barter, Buy and Sell Facebook forums in our area. We've sold a lot and bought a lot (too much!) from there. Fewer flakes, but you still get some that just can't get the concept of " Meet at Bucee's at 6:00". It does not mean try and send me an email after 6 asking if we are still meeting. We are already there waiting on your ###!

Good luck D!

People will search for what they want on Craigslist, it doesn't matter if your ad is on the front page or not. I've gotten replies days and days after I've posted something and there have probably been 1000s of new ads in between.

Re-sale or consignment stores are easy and safe to use.

I have furnished my apartment with a number of items from local Consignment shops. If I needed to sell something I would go to one of them.

Updating this to day that ironically, I had an inquiry today about something I had listed a month ago!! I thought I deleted the listing but forgot I had listed it twice, in 2 different categories and only deleted one. So clearly people do comb through searching for specific items long after they are first listed.

You're lucky you got away with not having them both deleted for you....unless the rules have been changed since I last tried listing in two different states and the 'bot' caught it and deleted both with a warning to me.
