what's your take on reduced items, and i mean that literally! how much do you buy when something you really need is reduced. for instance, i always leave at least 1 or 2 items unless there is 1 or 2 left on the shelf.

recently, i encountered 7 reduced bentos, so i took 4 of 7. some people where looking at me with jaudice eyes as i walked around the store, and it got even worse at the checkout. as i was checking out the cashier was asking me some interesting things like "how's these bentos?", "is this the time they reduce items?, "i notice plenty people buy these bentos". now, i didn't think anything of it until the last thing she asked which was "how many bentos are left?

now, it could be she wanted to eat that bento herself, but in my heart i feel what she was really trying to get at was why i'm buying so much and i hope your not taking it all. the reason is that i notice from her interactions with the other customers in front of me in line that she was no spring chicken working at the store, so i know she was asking me questions that she already knew the answers to.

Don't sweat the small stuff.

So the OP really needed 4 reduced price lunch boxes?
Nothing wrong with buying those.

i agree, but i guess from someone like the cashier who didn't see how much reduced bentos there was on the shelf then it may seem like i was being greedy. what if there were 4 reduced bentos on the shelf? would you take all 4 if you were buying it for other people and yourself? keep in mind these bentos are very good, popular and only $1.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...to_de_luxe.jpg this is not the actual bento, but this is what a bento looks like, and it's usually eaten at lunch time. the average price range is $5-7 depending on what is in the bento.

If they were going to be put to good use and not left to spoil, I would take all 4 of them.

The item was marked down, no harm in buying what you will put to use. The reverse can be true, employees find out the good deals and put everything aside for themselves (now, if it was something like 20, 30+ items, that's a different story).
