That could happen anywhere! Why do you blame Walmart?
If anything, you should be upset at the dog's client who clearly doesn't know how to take care of the poor animal. But to blame the store in which it happened? Heck, why not sue Walmart for the mental suffering this caused you! palm slap.
The problem is that I saw it happen in Walmart so now I cannot go back there. That, combined with all the other disasters I see in there is enough.
As crowded as Wal-Mart stores are, those who claim to hate the store hopefully will take their business elsewhere, a few less cars in the parking lot will be a good thing. LOL
Saying "it'll be a long wait" to a customer isn't very professional.
If Publix has self-checkout machines then maybe it's a better place to go late at night.
On the other hand, there's been some resistance to self-checkout among customers and that's why Walmart and some other retailers have been getting rid of them.
I despise the self-checkouts on principal. Wal-mart is the largest retail company in the world, with the Wal-mart heirs mult-billionaries many times over. They can AFFORD to employ more people, at all hours of the day. The self-checkouts are way for retailers to keep from hiring people. I don't work for Wal-mart so why in the world should I bag my own groceries. They can stick it. One of the reasons I rarely shop there.

Many grocery store chains are beginning to install self-check-out lanes; so eventually I guess you'll have no where to shop for groceries since you will want them to "stick it" as well.
Some claim the Wal-Mart in their town is a dump and only lower class citizens shop there (not sure how they know this unless they're shopping there as well).
We have three Super Wal-Marts, several 'regular' Wal-Marts and several Wal-Mart Neighborhood stores. Have been in each and they are all clean, well lit, and employees have great customer service skills.
I shop there because I can save at least $1.00 or more on each product v. purchasing at one of the chain grocery stores - and these are name brand food products. Also save more on HBA (health, beauty aids); paper products; house ware items; stationery items, etc. I cannot justify paying a higher price for the identical product at another store just because "some" dislike Wal-Mart (for whatever reason).
I wanted a plush mattress topper and found one at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $65.00; went to Wal-Mart and found the identical item (same brand, etc.) for $30.00 and obviously purchased it there.
Comes down to this: if you don't like WM, then don't shop there. People claiming the place is terrible isn't going to deter me from saving money.

And to the original post....the unions hate Walmart since they have been efficient at keeping organized unions out of their business. And that is another reason why I shop there!
Last night was my LAST trip to Walmart ever, ever, EVER again! What I saw tonight could happen anywhere, yes. The fact of the matter is I saw it with my own eyes IN Walmart and thus can't ever walk into a Walmart again without seeing the horror.
I am in AZ and had to run into Walmart for a late night money order. Unfortunately, Walmart's self called "Money Store" was closed or unmanned and Customer Service was completely vacant with not an employee in sight. I decided to go to another store to get what I needed. On my way out, I witnessed the horror first hand. While walking out of the store a lady and her "service" dog were in the process of being checked out by one of the cashiers. Just my luck, on the way out of the store, the dog decides to have a bowel movement right then and there. I didn't look directly but the dog took a HUGE dump right in the store. Just a huge pile. The cashier, several stockers who happened to be in the front of the store, and other customers were in pure shock. I picked up the pace and literally ran out of the store trying not to throw up.
Again, I am more than aware that this can and probably DOES happen in other stores too. However, when combined with the poor service, the number of trashy people who shop at Walmart, the surly and apathetic workers, and the long lines, this was the straw that broke the camel's back. Walmart is a trash heap and needs to be shut down.
To blame a store because a customer's dog takes a dumb is childish and ignorant. I've been in stores where you can tell by the odor in the air, that there is a kid somewhere nearby who took a dump in a diaper but I never blame the store!
I can't say I hate Walmart ,but based on my management backround I'd fire middle and regional mangers and
start the process over because "service",inventory control,cleanliness,noise control, friendliness , checkout, carts
( filty/ squared wheels), inovation all suck!
Silly question- any question stating "everyone" is silly. With all the business Wal-Mart does- obviously not too many people hate them!
