Needing a bit of extra warmth in the bed, we have used electric pads under the sheets at the bottom of the bed but find they are too small,
full electric blankets are too big and expensive.
i;ve been seeing something called electric throws and wonder if they could be used as a foot warmer if buried under a few sheets at the bottom of the bed.
anyone familiar with this type of product?

Picked up one with sherpa fleece at Big Lots recently for about $20. It is fantastic for use on a couch in a cold room, but like electric blankets is not designed to be used UNDER any covers.

Go old school, heat up some rocks or bricks, wrap in foil and stick under the covers.

Yes, that one is good, my wife has one. Do not fall for the USB version meant for the office or home computer. Someone at work got one. It requires two USB connections (Y at the end of the cord) but is way too small and totally useless, you can barley tell there's any heat from it.

I wouldn't worry about that. We had an electric "blanket" that had the corners land was meant to go under the bottom sheet. That had 2 sheets, blankets, comforter and us on top of it. Those throws don't get as hot as this thing did. Luckily it had dual controls so I could leave my side off.
Read the instructions/warnings and if it doesn't say not to put it under the blankets it should be fine.
Looks like my only option is the full queen size electric blanket. seems an expensive way to heat when i only require the bottom quarter of the bed to be warmed up..
I've bought several throws and never paid more than $30.
Walmart has the Sunbeam for $29.99
They are still pretty big. Another option is to get the twin size.
I've got one. Nice thick fleece on both sides and it is warm even without the heat element on. Costco had them for their coupon sale last month.
I love it, but, I am not at all sure that it is OK to run them under a covering of blankets (and I am not going to dig out the instructions for you). You have to be careful to not bend the wires and to keep them away from pets. So just be sure that it is OK to run it under covers.
I use my when I watch TV to keep my feet warm. However, for bed, if your feet are cold, maybe you need more blankets, or maybe you could wear some wool booties to bed. I find a nice thick comforter to be warm and light.
