I made an order for $110 consisting of 8 items. Paid via Paypal. It was around black Friday and the store was running a promotion for 30% off orders over $100 and most of the items I bought were on sale. I got a great deal.

7 of the 8 items I ordered arrive on Monday. One had a longer ship time and was shipped separately. I check my mail today and there is a package. Open it up and its not what I ordered. A totally different item, worth $12. Item I ordered nowhere to be found. Call up the store and they want me to take out my credit card in order to pay for the item erroneously shipped to me since Paypal wont let them mess with my bank account.

Had to argue quite a bit and speak to a manager in order to get them to agree to simply allow me to return the item sent to me in error and have them send the item I ordered.

I think its completely ridiculous that they would expect the customer to pay for something that was shipped to them in error, even if it would eventually be refunded.

Stores responsibility for error. Any dispute call credit card company and file a dispute. CC company won't pay store until situation resolved.

Depending on your standing with Paypal, they would've simply credited you for the item and told to trash the it.

Fyi, the CC company paid them already. When a dispute is started the dollar amount is frozen from other payments due to that company taken from other people.
