It is ridiculous. They always quote some reason as to why it goes up, although most people I know, including myself, feel like it's anyone's guess.
Right, and the same rules don't seem to apply for the reduction of gas prices, which generally take much longer to go down in response to changes in the oil market!
Before the weekend it jumped to $2.07 and today it's $1.93 at the same station. I take it as a pre snow storm gouging and return to normal pricing after the storm is gone.
Our gas went up another .08 cents over the weekend. It's now $2.13.9.
An article in our Sunday paper, today, said that gasoline should level off at $2.33 throughout this summer.

Ours jumped from $1.99.9 to $2.25.9 in three days. The 'brand name' stations are charging $2.28.9 but they are always higher. Sometimes quite a bit. I knew it wouldn't stay that low. It never does but I sure hope we don't see $3.85.9 again!
It's higher than that here - lowest I ever saw (many weeks ago was 2.08)
