There is a new 2017 recall:

Checked mine and it's being recalled (home use model purchased around 2004). Called and they said they will ship my replacement within 15-20 business days.

I'm not suggesting your toss your fire extinguishers, but what I find interesting is that most of these small fire extinguishers are less effective than a couple of boxes of baking soda (which is the active ingredient in many of them). The only real differences are that people are programmed to see a fire and think "fire extinguisher!" rather than "baking soda!" and some people panic in an emergency and can't aim a handful of baking soda to hit the fire.

For small cooking fires, baking soda can be a less messy and safer choice. A charred steak with baking soda on it is still edible once the bulk of it is brushed or washed off. Not so much with the contents of a fire extinguisher.
