In our state, stores have to display unit pricing on the price tags. It looks like you live in a state that is not consumer-friendly.

I use those tags...if they aren't mssing or the wrong product is over the area where the tag is..I was just making light of that toilet paper comparison...that's one thing that has gotten bigger. .it used to be every brand was 4 rolls...or one single roll at 7-11...

Not all the shelf tags are the same though, even at the same store. Its not always easy to compare based just on that. Like with food some of the tags might list the unit price as per ounce while others have "per each" and just list the entire price of the item.

16 oz bags of frozen veggies/fruit are now converting to 12 oz in most places. A few still have 16 oz, for now.

Wonder what's next.

It all started with baby diapers.

I remember when my dd was a baby (back in 1987) the newborn pack had 66 diapers. Two yrs later it was 56 diapers. Two yrs after that it was down to 44. By the time my youngest was born in 1996 the newborn pack was down to 32? It's been awhile, lol. Now they are at their smallest and the price hasn't dropped one bit.

I noticed the tuna downsizing years ago. They went to 5oz, but I guarantee you're not getting 5oz of tuna. More like 3 or 4 and rest is water.

The ice cream doesn't bother me...I don't buy ice cream. If I want ice cream I go to Coldstone Creamery.

The coffee I buy still comes in 16oz package. Granted I'm paying a premium price for it, but good coffee is a necessity.

Blue Bell ice cream is still 1/2 gallon, but it's $5.97 for it.
