Happened to me once. Had just moved to the town, the mall is on the older side, so Dillard's had two separate stores - one the mens one the womens. Not even connected. I didn't know this. Went in one, left out of the other. Thought I was going insane. I was also panicking because I had to be at the elementary school to get my son!

Generally, the people who "think" they are going insane, usually aren't.

My shrink told me that ... back when I thought I was going insane

Yes, Alzheimers reigns . Unless I am in a place where I shop often ,I often forget where I park my car. I am always positive that this time someone actually stole the old thing.

I also have thought someone must have taken my ole Buick. It has a window which won't go up quite all the way, and someone could easily get into it. Don't know many who would want my car though!

I am almost certain that if anyone got into my car with the intention of stealing it, my car would refuse to start. It has a personality, you know.

Does this ever happen to you and does the big parking lots make it less likely you will shop at the Mall?
Wow!!! I would feel so panicky if I were you when that happened!! Luckily this has never happened to me... I always remember which entrance I parked outside of... Your situation sounds like the episode of Seinfeld where this happens in a parking ramp at a mall. too funny.
