What's the most effective filler for an umbrella base?

sand... water... concrete mix?

Here's the answer... if someone finds a better one, please let me know.

I read to fill it with sand...

and then, because there's something called porosity (space between sand granules)

... to fill it with water.

I'll report back on the results.

find a heavy steel/cast iron one and don't screw around with those ugly plastic ones
