Last week I ate at McDonald's for the first time in 15 years...what an awful experience.

The chocolate shake was far to syrupy -- made we want to go home immediately and rinse with Listerine. Each fry tasted as though it was covered with 2000mg of sodium -- they should call them salt sticks with a hint of starch. The Big Mac's bread tasted like cardboard.

How is it this company is still in business?

A few days after this awful experience I had a similar meal at a different fast food establishment, and for a dollar or so more, got something that was 20 times more palatable.

I love the fries, cheeseburgers, and Filet-O-Fish sandwiches (minus cheese). They also have some great salads, and the wraps are pretty darned good too.

That's the best part of McDs. I wish more companies would serve these Salt Sticks. Delicious.

How can people consume what's served at McDonald's?

Open mouth, insert food, masticate and swallow.

Not bad for the occasional quick meal maybe a couple of times a year Not something i would eat on a regular basis, too much salt and the burgers tend to get rather boring.

Theres better options out there. For example here in Montreal for about the same price as a quarter pounder fries and a drink i can get a smoked meat sandwich/fries/coleslaw/pickle and a drink=

McDonalds has been attempting to improve their image, varios foolish slogans and ad campaigns, but they're failing to fix the one thing that needs fixing, the food. I do eat there at times, maybe once every 2 or 3 months, but it's not my first choice.

Wraps with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato and cucumber are pretty good and the only thing I'll eat from McDonalds.

How do I consume it? Generally with a side of ketchup and a Diet Coke.

McDonalds, as well as other similar fast food joints varies from place to place. Some are actually very good while others make you want to throw up. It's a crapshoot.
I always order my burgers with a special requirement, like no onions for example, and you'll generally get a new fresh cooked sandwich.

No clue! I also find it gross.

But their sales are actually declining so I think people are at least considering what they put in their body.

McDonald's sales decline yet again, despite first turnaround efforts - Fortune
