Amazon doesn’t always have the lowest prices, but it does put a lot of effort into making you think it always has the lowest prices. With this in mind, we were very interested to read WiseBread’s list of Amazon shopping secrets that can help you save money. What makes this particular list so good is that it not only tells you tricks for knowing what to buy at Amazon, but for knowing what not to buy at Amazon.

I think most comparison shop at amazon like any other shopping. But the thing is really amazons policies that make it often the better choice even with a little difference from cheapest. as to on line. Didn't find anything new in article; just merchandising done for decades long before amazon.

I've read articles stating that Amazon encourages its sellers (even those where Amazon is the shipper) to include shipping costs in their merchandise prices. So, if you use Prime for free shipping, be aware that it's not really "free".

That has not been my experience. The shipping, whether it is free or not, is always clearly stated.

I don't really see any new info in these articles that I didn't already understand through common sense shopping. I am willing to pay a little more at Amazon sometimes because they are going to deliver it right to my front door in a couple of days, and I don't have to go anywhere near Walmart. I save gas, frustration, and have the luxury of sitting on my couch browsing through hundreds of products, most of which I might not be able to find in my city, even if I wanted to drive all over town. When you add the other benefits of Amazon Prime - the video streaming, the audio books, and the music, I sure don't mind paying a little extra.
