Not Bosch - I'm disappointed with its cleaning capability. Tried several detergents and all leave a film on glasses and glass plates.

I know this post started years ago but with the recent comments, I will chime in. In our home we just sold-I had just put in a Bosch . I had read all the raves, and I knew if nothing else it would add some good rep points to the house quality.
I actually did get the one ranked best buy by CR - and also at the time there was the rebate on installation only on Bosch, and I think only from Lowe's. It was definitely quiet and pretty good, but I did find the dishes not thoroughly dried at the end. Not a deal breaker but not stellar.
So we moved and in the new house is ancient dishwasher (seriously- I believe it is the original which is over 20 years old. still working, GE, but really not good at all). I am looking to replace it - it is functioning and does clean but it's so noisy and it is obvious that even the bottom of the line current dishwashers would be way better than this one.

So I am looking now to replace and cannot decide whether to go with the Bosch again (It was 539 on sale and is again that price, or maybe upgrade slightly to a $600-650 model ) or some Whirlpools that are on sale now for about $550 ish.

I was about to order the Whirlpool when again I saw that Lowe's is featuring the installation rebate (as far as I can tell, HD also now sells Bosch but does not have the install rebate) for the Bosch.
Decisions decisions.

Hello Grmngrl8203. Frankly speaking I never used any of these brand personally but heard a lot about Bosch brand from my 2-3 close friends and that’s why My vote goes to Bosh.

Intersting read on Bosch. Might be model related.

As far as both my experience (3 units) and knowledge (from reviews, appliance repair shops and the like), Bosch has no equal. It's possible the 3-4x priced snoblux brands are some improvement.

I agree that they do have a tendency to be all German Sergeant-Major and beep both as soon as the load is done ("zu Befehl, mein kommandant!") and every 15 minutes thereafter... for-ever-ever-ever... Which is really stupid and Germanic, as the dishwasher is one appliance that can sit unloaded for days, if necessary.

I have no experience with Bosch, but I'm very happy with my Kenmore. When I bought it, it was the cheapest model I could find with a stainless steel interior (and that was before Sears accidentally gave me $120 points back on top of the $50 back that was included with the deal). It's fairly quiet and cleans noticeably better than my old GE.

FWIW...my grandmother just replaced her Kenmore dishwasher, which finally died after 59 years of reliable service.
