After all this sense of betrayal..Did you even report this to management..and explain the only reason you went there was because was reassured of inventory..Did you happen to catch they guys name?? All good information to gather when talking to some sort of telephone person on the other end at such a store..Consumer's today are far more informed than yesteryear...Internet can be very informative and arms someone with questions to ask..clarifications and often greater ability to protect yourself from SHARK Salespeople!!

Anyway...Slightly off topic..What I truly find offensive is when some salesperson say in a dealership who give information somewhat misleading..especially when I always do my homework before shopping in any store for especially a big ticket item...WHen I get conflicting informations..I always ask to speak to manager..then often they back the salesperson...THEN I pull out my ACE card..LOL..and call my backup resource person to quote whatever..and do this right in front of the manager..Voila..change their tune and all of a sudden it becomes a bidding war..especially if I'm flexible of delivery... That goes for appliances & vehicles!

There are some places who not only match other places and then better it by 10% for same product/model etc....Home Depot for one! Even Walmart matches up here in Ontario Canada!!

Anyway, I have purchased a big ticket item at Best Buy..APPLE MACBOOK AIR..and made it my priority to take my tech savvy son with me to ask the RIGHT questions..to protect me from sales pitcher's...LOL..BTW~~ Love my MacBook!!!

Yeah from Amazon, faster shipping that what Best Buy would offer and it even got bundled with my Jurassic World blu-ray that I pre-order. Best Buy at best, would get me one by Friday.

And yes, I talked to a manager about this and plan to mail a letter to corporate as well.

No but as per an article I found from the initial announcement two years ago, the Samsung employees were supposed to "assist" Best Buy employees within the Samsung Experience Stores (where they do have the Samsung tablets.) Being Samsung is leasing store suave and isn't getting much more bottom line off the agreement, what is the point to tell Samsung? Me buying their product through Amazon still gets them their money. It's just Amazon got the merchant cut rather than Best Buy.

In all honesty you weren't lied to. I HIGHLY doubt the salesperson intentionally told you there was an item available when there wasn't. Did he make a mistake? Yes. Should he have apologized to you? Yes. But it sounds like an honest mistake on his part.

So you get mad over a Samsung rep 'lying' to you,
and you get back at them by buying their product anyway... and boycotting a business that had little or nothing to do with the 'lie'?

Isn't it illegal? What kind of lie? Selling a low quality wine as a high quality wine? Or what? Saying that an employee washed his hands after going to washroom when he didn't? For the first one, illegal. For the second one, legal & his free will & right.

What is the point in telling samsung? Really? You're mad over what the samsung employee said and you are ok with telling best buy but don't see the point in telling samsung? Samsung trained that employee, samsung sent that employee to that store to work, gave him a job to do that you feel he didn't do properly and you STILL think it is something that best buy is at fault for?
That's like complaining to Walmart that you had a bad experience in one of the McDonalds they have inside, but feeling like it's pointless to tell McDonalds.

The McDonald's employee don't share the stock with the Best Buy. These Samsung Experience Stores have Samsung specialists that do in fact work for Samsung but NOT Best Buy, however it acts more like the Samsung phone and tablet sales floor for Best Buy than an actual store. Think of the phone part in Best Buy but there is a guy for Verizon, AT&T and Sprint instead of Best Buy blue. Like the cell phone area, the stock is through Best Buy not the manufacturer or tenant. The Samsung Experience also does not really have sales itself, they kick that to the Best Buy registers similar to other high dollar purchases (minus appliances.) To have an accurate equal, McDonald's would need to get its hamburgers, chicken nugget and fries from Walmart's stock of food and cook them up and then ring them up on Walmart's registers. Not quite the same.

You still weren't lied to. Yes, you were inconvenienced, but that's life, mistakes happen, things don't go as planned. In the end you got the product you want, but here we are days later and your still preoccupied with anger.
