I thought Pepsi would release a special edition of Pepsi Perfect to celebrate Back to the Future day, and I can't find it for sale anywhere. I did find a twitter page that said they sold out a batch last night, but more would go on sale at 9 am this morning, but I don't see anything, anywhere, where I can buy one.
I think I fell for a total hoax.
Thanks, Pepsi, for making me feel like a total goofball.
I won't be drinking any Pepsi products for a while, that's for sure.
Bottles were given out at Comic Con.
And they were for sale online today, so it was not a hoax.
I would be willing to guess that some lucky buyers are reselling on eBay.

Silly reason to never drink Pepsi again....
If it was for sale today, why can't I find any now? They can't possibly sold out on the very first day, can it?
Crap like this is why I loathe corporate America. I just feel so trodden-upon by these soul-less corporations.
Godforbid I wanna be able to actually buy something fun for once.

Sure it can - and did!
Things sell out on the first day of offering all the time... sporting events, concerts, new designer releases at Target, etc. I have been shut out many a time over the decades.
If you really wanted one, you needed to do your research and get into the mix early!

Good gosh, that's so stupid. They were asking $20.15 for those things, why would it sell out so fast? And if they knew if it was gonna be so popular, why didn't they put out an unlimited supply and rake in the mondo cash?
I honestly thought the sole purpose of a corporation is to maximize return to shareholders, by selling things for a profit. The mark-up on these things must have been 2000% and yet they sold out on the very first day?
Good grief - at least I know not to buy any stock in Pepsi.

Part of the reason it sold out so fast was because their was a limited supply. If Pepsi announced "Pepsi Perfect" as a new product that they would be making an unlimited supply of, why would people then rush to buy it? And why would people pay $20.15 for a bottle of soda that anyone and everyone could buy?
Its just Pepsi made with real sugar, which is a real Pepsi product. You don't see people going out in droves to buy it though. Pepsi didn't even have to put out a special Back to the Future Pepsi, they just thought it would be a fun, limited edition product to do for today.
If you really want one, go on Ebay and get one for $200-$300.

Looks like they sold them for a pretty good profit then.

Well, this has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I'm so sorry that I have a life and things to do and wasn't able to check on this until 5 pm this afternoon. I shouldn't have to "rush" to buy anything, unless it's a concert or a sporting event, which this is not.
Let's just say I'm not going to be a fan of Pepsi for quite some time.
Thank God I live in Atlanta, the home of Coca-Cola.
In this case, the very first day is the ONLY day that mattered, right?
Exactly. October 21, 2015 is the day in Back to the Future II. They made the product with the intention of only selling it on "Back to the Future" day. Pepsi didn't make Pepsi Perfect to sell on July 17, 2016 or May 25, 2021. They made it specifically because of the movie and picked today because of the date in the movie.

Yeppers.
And the OP should have known that, as Back to the Future Day WAS in his status until three minutes ago...
