There are so many different options that, and it's hard to choose.Mainly I will be using it for Poptarts, toast, and maybe the rare bagel. I want it cheap, but I don't want to have to worry about it breaking down in a month either. Any suggestions. Thanks

Does it have to be a toaster?
I have owned one for decades... but I LOVE having a toaster oven!

We usually just buy cheap toasters because we have so many other kitchen gadgets. My one comment on cheap toasters is why do so many come with short electrical cords coming out the front of the toaster? Maybe it is just the ones that we buy; but it is a pain and I cannot believe that some engineer actually came up with such a stupid design!

We've been pretty content with our 2-slice Oster. It was less than $30.00, but still has several setting choices, and gets almost daily use.

Black and Decker, another inexpensive brand, didn't last. Cuisinart, which can be quite a bit pricier, didn't last either.

We use our toaster oven for everything but toast....LOL

OP, cheap and quality do not often go together, you generally get one or the other.

I don't have a toaster - I use my toaster oven (it's not like I have toast very often, except this weekend when 3 visitors had English muffins everyday) - it's fine for toast though (and no need for yet another appliance)

We have a Cuisinart classic toaster we bought 10 years ago, still works great. Cost then was $29.95.

I bought a toaster at the Dollar Store for $9. That was 8 years ago. Still works great. It toasts bread.
