Options for night time music for kids (store, best, used)

I have my kids super programmed to fall asleep to soft classical music. All I did was play classical music at bed time from when they were little. They are now 9& 10. They fall asleep at the ballet, opera and symphony. It's kind of cute (but makes buying tickets not really worth it).

When they were little I would just put on a cd, a little later used my iPhone. And just shut it off when they were asleep. But the past several years it has gotten tricky.

First we started with CDs. But they would easily get scratched, even with the best care little kids can give a cd. I never got my computer to burn CDs well.

Then I found a radio stations. But their resting would get interrupted by the dj or commercials.

I then got an iPod for them. But it was a slightly newer one and they would get up and play with it. Plus the battery life sucked.

Then I got the older iPod shuffle and it bothered them they couldn't pick what artist they wanted to listen to.

This Christmas I want to get them something for music. I have to get two because they are moving into separate rooms soon

Is ther a great product for this? There are so many options for music these days. I just want something simple but reliable.

Can you get them a couple of Kindle Fire Hd's or similar inexpensive tablets and a couple of Bluetooth speakers? Get a couple of micro SD cards for additional storage so they can store allot of music.

Go back to using CD's. They are not little kids anymore, therefore the CD's should not get scratched.
