Lower strata employees?

I don't shop at Walmart because I don't.

Exactly!

I try to curb my interactions with Walmart. If there are other options I use them. But I am forced to live on a very strict budget and I just can't justify over-paying for needed items when Walmart is sitting just down the street from me selling things I need at a significant price reduction over other sources.

This is most true for OTC drugstore items. I don't get prescriptions filled there but since I am caregiver to a person nearing 90 I need many things for her in addition to myself. Things like contact lens cleaner, stomach upset preparations, shampoo, hand cream, cosmetics of all types, and even some paper products are so much cheaper at Walmart it's shocking. Walmart's prices for these things are better than buying them at a drugstore like Walgreen's or CVS or even at the supermarket WITH a coupon.

I don't buy groceries at Walmart (other than peanut butter which is exceptionally cheaper there) and I don't buy household products or clothing items that I can get elsewhere.

But I'm not going to ruin my personal budget just to make a political statement regarding Walmart. All the big box stores have a similar negative effect on the American economy. Although I will say the Walton family members are particularly egregious in their leadership of government policies that have been the ruination of the middle class that used to be the bedrock of American life.

Lol, I'm sure the OP and her snooty "lower strata employee" attitude won't be missed.

How are you getting Dollar General to ship to you for free? I just went to their site and it doesn't say anything about free shipping. Thank you.

Ah hello these are serious posts to the big time wage earners on here . Thank goodness they shop on line and we don't need to concern ourselves running into them.

Actually, I love Wal-Mart!

It's the best place to buy all the stuff that comes in boxes. I buy all my fresh food at Sprouts.

Anyone who works for their living is first-rate, IMO. The "low-strata" are those on welfare, etc. Its a complete contradiction in terms, to call an employee "low-strata".

I shop Walmart for lower priced items, such as cleaning supplies, toiletries, etc. Also, Walmart's diabetic supplies--their Relion brand--is way cheaper than any others. I mean cheap enough I can actually afford it!

I haven't bought anything in Walmart for years. The last thing I bought, at least five years ago, was a rug, and I bought that very reluctantly only because I was absolutely unable to find that odd size in any other store.

I feel that the Walmart corporation is scum and I wish everyone would go elsewhere.

Here's a very interesting read on the subject:

Has anyone else tried this? What were the results?

I will update as we go to see if this can be done
Thanks[/QUOTE]

I have not done this as I like certain things from Walmart which I cannot find anywhere else. I traveled the country in an RV for 3 1/2 years across the country and have been a customer of Walmart for at least 2 decades and I rarely come across a rude employee.

I'm sure it can be done. I could do it but I don't want to. Good luck.
