I don't care about free shipping - I only care about the TV part.

It includes a lot of shows and movies for the yearly fee of about $100.

My 1st question is are shows like TWD dead (and other basic cable shows) included or do you have to pay extra for them?

And I know they charge for premium channel shows like Shameless, Homeland, Outlander, etc., but do you et a discount if you are paying the yearly (or monthly) subscription fee?

You can go on Amazon and look at the streaming choices
If a show/movie is Prime offering, it will say
I don't think Prime members get a discount on buying shows but I can't say for sure cause I rarely do that for entire series.

I am Amazon Prime and have used streaming for couple of years...personally I think the Prime offerings are not as good as they used to be and Amazon is very difficult to search if you are browsing...you need to know what you want
PS--there are sales on streaming video shows for Cyber Monday--might check those prices

Just about everything I want to watch is not included with Prime. I am going to cancel before they automatically charge my credit card like they did last year.

The prime movies/TV is actually pretty limited and gets worse all the time. Most quality programming is for pay not included in prime. I mean old crap movies go to pay all the time now. Honestly it's becoming not worth the money if you don't use the free shipping a lot - and I mean a lot. A 100bones a year you need to ship a lot or you are actually overpaying for shipping. If the price goes up again I'll definitely dump prime.

The things to buy Prime for are free shipping and Amazon's Original Series. I've enjoyed Bosch, Mozart in the Jungle, and Transparent enough to watch all episodes, but so far, the rest haven't thrilled me. I let my subscription lapse rather than re-up at the end of a year. I'll probably buy another year when the next season of Bosch comes out. Michael Connelly is my favorite mystery writer.

Free with Prime selection is not great. I don't have a smart tv, so stream through Wii. That really sucks, constant buffering. Looked into getting Fire stick, but there were enough crappy comments about that when using certain Samsung tv's, I decided it's not worth the hassle. However, I don't seem to have buffering issues when watching on hand held device. I wouldn't puchase Prime solely for videos. I also subscribed on the day they discounted it to $67 or something like that.

Are you sure it's not your internet speed? My smart tv buffered until I raised the speed.

I joined Prime during their $67 special. I haven't watched a single tv/movie because I joined for the 2-day shipping. I order 100+ times a year so am saving thousands in shipping alone.

But checking out the selections I see tons of movie that I would watch but don't have the time.

I'm happy with Prime just for the free fast shipping but I thoroughly enjoy the abundance of BBC TV series. They're also pretty good about picking up old HBO series: Deadwood, The Wire, Treme, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under. Ditto PBS - Season 1 of Wolf Hall was just added.

I agree with jay5835 about the Amazon original series, there are several excellent ones. My latest favorite is Catastrophe.

I find myself watching Prime less and less from previous years. They don't add new content nearly as often. Also, they used to have the license for all the History Channel shows which I loved. I watched full seasons of Pawn Stars for free.

There is still a lot of bang for the buck like every season and episode of Star Trek, Survivor and Amazing Race. I've started watching Orphan Black which is good.
