Hey everyone. This is going to be an unusual post, so please bear with me:

Several years ago, I had the carpet in my home professionally cleaned by a service. They did a decent job, and after they cleaned the carpet using the liquid, the cleaner took a little hand-held, plastic (I think) "carpet comb", ran it through the carpet, and brought up most/all of the ground-in dirt at the crevices of my carpeted steps & in some other little hard to reach places. The "comb" (for lack of a better word) that was used was a small hand-held, non-electronic "device" that looked like something that would be an attachment to a vacuum cleaner.

I forgot to ask the cleaning company what that device was, and haven't had occasion to use them since that time.

I have since looked online for something like this "carpet comb", and the only thing I've been able to find are those large carpet "rakes" that people use to comb through shag carpeting. This is NOT what the cleaner used on my carpet.

So, does this ring a bell with anyone?! And, if so, is this available in stores and/or online?! I have looked for this on Amazon, and haven't been able to find this - I haven't even been able to find a picture of this.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Neither of these looks like a vac attachment but may be what you're looking for.

Did they used this?
http://www.angieslist.com/files/styl...?itok=s2hDI9Sr

This works great for hair and lint:
The Burlap Bag - High Quality Handmade Goods Shop - Austin Texas
This is great for rugs:

Or you can use this:
Amazon.com: Commercial Groomer Carpet Rake - 18" Wide with 54" Long Handle: Industrial & Scientific
Most types of carpet will benefit from using a groomer but Berber is one kind that should not be groomed to avoid damage.
This could be attached to a standard 1 1/4 inch vacuum cleaner wands/hoses, canister:

Dyson has this attachment:

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to respond! Some of the smaller items you posted do look similar to what I saw used. I appreciate the help!

try here, if you don't see it check to see if there is a janitorial supply company in your area
my ex used to clean carpets ages ago and that's where he got most of his supplies from, though I think they only sold in bulk
might even be worth calling a cleaning company to see if they would sell you one directly, for a profit of course

Just an FYI. I use my 'furbuster' comb on my carpeted steps. It works great!

Sounds good - I have no pets, but may check this out the next time I'm in the vicinity of a pet store. I appreciate the feedback.
