Default 42in Olevia LCD Flat Screen

I'm looking at getting a new LCD and I've been hearing alot of positive info on Olevia but I don't know anyone who has personally owned one. Does anyone have any experience with an Olevia?

Thanks

Olevia is an excellent brand. My dad has two TVs made by them that he's never had a problem.

In fact, I'm about to order my Olevia TV.

If your budget allows, I'd try to stick to a brand-name tv instead of venturing to some of the newer brands like Olevia and Vizio. The one thing I've learned about making big purchases is if the price is too good to be true, it probably is. Compare that Olevia tv to a comparable size Samsung or Sony and I garauntee you notice a difference in picture quality. What exactly is the price on that tv? Any others you're interested in?

Also if you're going with a 42" size, I'd recommend a plasma over LCD. Not only are plasmas cheaper, they also seem to have a better picture than most LCD's I've see.

I have a 27" Olevia LCD Monitor that is basically just a TV without the internal tuner. I use it mostly as a computer monitor, but also have it hooked up to my DVD/VCR Combo unit for watching movies. The picture quality is superb, and the resolution is actually far better (1080p) than what it was specified as (1080i). I am very pleased with it, and would recommend it to others. If their 42" TV is as good as my 27", you will be pleased with it.

I have an Olevia 42 inch screen and love it! Several of my family members also have bought 42 inch Olevias and they enjoy theirs as well.

I have a friend with a Samsung of the same size and to my eyes they're the same. In fact, I think mine looks better when watching normal TV. With HDTV, they both look similar. With Samsung and Sony, you're just paying for the brand name.

As for LCD vs. plasma, again it's not much of a difference. One negative of plasma is that the screen reflects glare in a bright room, but plasma is better at reproducing black and other dark colors. They're both fine for most use though. The Olevia LCDs are cheaper than any plasmas I saw when I was TV shopping.

I have a 37 inch Olevia LCD monitor only, no tv tuner, it has been one of my best investments ever, overall quality is great, reasonable prices, i would buy this brand again.
