What don't you like about your Black & Decker? I'm curious because I just ordered one.

Who "loves" an appliance?

It's a metaphor.

And I ordered my new Black & Decker toaster oven to replace an appliance I'd buy again in a heartbeat, if it only was still on the market: a Sunbeam Express Meals combined toaster oven and microwave. It's dead simple to use and has worked flawlessly for over 20 years, and I HATE having to give it up, but it's started acting up when it's set to bake (although it still toasts, broils, and microwaves flawlessly). If the word 'love" can be applied to an appliance, it's fair to say I love my old Sunbeam combo toaster oven/microwave!

Piggy-backing on here - I HATE new threads on the same topic: What toaster oven is recommended by others? (I've read Breville, out of my budget) - and Black & Decker - but no model numbers. (I want something that will fit a casserole dish, my pampered chef micro. clay try, etc.) - the one I went cheap on no longer heats up at all on the top heat elements (along w/issues w/the unit itself, racks, etc.). If I just want to bake one chicken breast for example, I don't want to have to heat up the whole oven. TIA

I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, Flamingo13, but the Black & Decker toaster oven I purchased is this model: Amazon.com: BLACK+DECKER TO3250XSB 8-Slice Extra Wide Toaster Oven, Black/Silver: Kitchen & Dining. It will hold a 9 x 13" pan.

Thanks, let me know how it works out? I am looking for something that will hold a decent-sized pan - thanks!

Will do! I move in to my new condo next week, so it won't be long before I can check the new toaster oven out.

I'd love to hear also why the Breville is worth the price. I would love to my toaster oven more often, but I just have a standard GE model, and it takes like 15 minutes just to toast bread. We rarely use it. However, I would like to do away with the microwave completely, so a good, reliable toaster oven would be great to find.

I have a GE convection/toaster oven and have been using it pretty hard for six years. My last place didn't have a kitchen stove/oven so it got used a LOT. After all this time though the heating elements aren't working so well and it doesn't get up to the proper temps. BUT I now have a stove w/oven so don't really need it that much. I do like the fact that I can use just about any size pan/dish in it like two loaves of bread at once. I don't think I paid over $50 for it so I got my 'money's worth' out of it.

Sadly, haven't heard back from aredhel - I going out tomorrow to investigate affordable ones - it's just me and I'd rather use that than heat up the entire oven. I officially put the old one in the trash for pickup tomorrow, the top element doesn't heat up at all, thought I'd still give it a shot a try for my little tray of 6 corn muffins.... they were pretty inedible (squirrels like them though, LOL).
