I am receiving a package from New York and i live in Delaware and the person said he shipped the package yesterday 3/31/2016 but it was after 5 and he used the self service kiosk at the post office and it it also 1 day priority mailing. He said he didnt get a trackin number so i cant look it up. So i was wondering when will it get processed today 4/1/2016 and i will receive it 2mar Sat 4/2/2016? Or is there a chance that it could have got processed last night because he just got there when the post office closed. Also i only live 3 hours away!. So what is the possibility of my receiving it today? Or will it be tomorrow?

If he used the self serve kiosk, the tracking number is on his receipt.

If he missed the cutoff time at that post office it won't be processed until today and delivery tomorrow.

No, the cut off time is based on the class of shipping. Example, and Express 1 day delivery may be 3:00 pm, while a 2 day Priority may be 5:30 pm. The cutoff times are listed at each post office as each have different times. The cut off time may be one time for all the area post offices while the main central post office for that area can be later. Time also vary depending on if you use the unattended box or use the window service. Handing it to a postal clerk at 5 pm will make a 5 pm cutoff but dropping it in the box where the next scheduled clean-out isn't until 6 pm means you may miss the deadline.
