This isn't what I would call a prank.
It's a horrible idea just waiting to backfire in all sorts of ways.

I'd fire you so fast you'd think your ass was a volcano.

Not only that, but I might get the media involved..that way any prospective employer would know to avoid you, and your little friends, like the plague. Don't think doing something this stupid won't follow you around....it will.

You work at Michael's...anyone with half a brain could work there (obviously)

I'm missing the reason you want to basically stab your employer in the back.
I wouldnt call it a prank i'd call it gross insubordination,if carried out management will sooner or later discover who the ringleader is and that person will be promptly fired.

You'll be the only one who does it.

Often there's a difference between saying you're going to do something (funny) and doing it (not funny).

Why would you do that? It would lead to a terrible disaster and more than likely you would get fired.

Being fired for cause usually means getting unemployment denied. Not showing up for a scheduled shift, not even bothering to call in, would be good cause.

But sure, OP, if you are the gambling type and want to see if a) everyone else follows through instead of the more likely just blowing off steam, and b) if the company decides to be magnanimous and not fire you for not showing up, then sure go ahead, why not? You've got nothing to lose except your job, any future recommendation (and even on a basic job check, they will say you are not eligible for rehire) and no unemployment.

The names of all 25 would be known in the employment world within 48 hours, and all would be blackballed from any decent job.

No unemployment pay.

And it is not against the law when called for a reference to tell the truth, that you were fired for pulling a rebellion against the company.
