I don't know about collusion, but we quit doing 'competition checks' years ago.
I remember the good old days of spending a half day running to the nearest competitors and surreptitiously writing down their prices on a list of 'competitive' items, or pretending to talk to myself while mumbling prices into a recorder or cell phone, lol
I have this vague idea that it's still done at a market level, and probably all done electronically now, but definitely not at store level like we used to do.
