Is retail becoming collusion rather than competition? (cell phone, price, store)

It's all optional for me. Let them hike whatever price they want. Now healthcare and drug companies, that's collusion. Thanks obama.

I don't know about collusion, but we quit doing 'competition checks' years ago.
I remember the good old days of spending a half day running to the nearest competitors and surreptitiously writing down their prices on a list of 'competitive' items, or pretending to talk to myself while mumbling prices into a recorder or cell phone, lol
I have this vague idea that it's still done at a market level, and probably all done electronically now, but definitely not at store level like we used to do.
